Review: Silver Lining by Colourpop Palette

 

 

I’m so in love with this palette. It’s like the mini me of The Stone Cold Fox palette. My favorite shades are  Optimistic and Lucky Stars. But my number one is Optimistic. It’s just this perfect pale lavender-lilac-grey trio hybrid and I can’t get over it. And it translated so well on my lids. Usually less saturated colors just turn into a completely different color. And I’ve had that issue whether it’s a color on my nails or as a blush. So I’m very happy to say that it matches exactly what I see in the pan. The least favorite shade I have is the U Got This! Simply because, it reads like a dark gunmetal metallic shimmer on the pan but when I swatched it, it kind of turned brown. And I’ve had ColourPop do that before in the other palettes I’ve owned from them. The nicest shade to swatch was New Era which was the last black shade. The other shades didn’t feel nice to swatch (but you cannot judge the quality of an eyeshadow based on swatching feels alone), but they went on so nicely with a brush. And that’s how you know it’s a good palette. Because you don’t need the warmth of your finger for it to perform well. Okay, I wanna go back and talk about Optimistic again, because I cannot rave enough about it. It glided so smoothly on my lined lids. There’s not patchiness. The color is solid and consistent and uniformed throughout the application and I don’t recall any fall out either. 

I waited a month for this palette to be released at Ulta since I had some Ulta points I wanted to use. So this is originally $14, but I got it for $6.50 because I had some $8 that I accumulated over the past six months.
