Glittery Summery Make Up Tutorial

 ✦

Long intro: This a very late summer tutorial, but I still want to meet my quota of blogging for a year and including a makeup tutorial for all four seasons. And I feel like I can get away with it because it’s technically still  August.  I’ll post a back to uni/school/ classic vampy makeup look sometime in September. Most of them would revolve around spicy pumpkin lattes and gossip girl inspired stuff.

Also, this is kind of like cheating. My make up from spring still looks the same. A basic fawn and gold eyeshadow. Only the name/title of the tutorial has changed lol. Most importantly though, the formulas I’m using. I’ve been drawn to using high-end makeup once again as I’ve filled my cravings of drugstore products in the past year.

So for the base, I first I apply Clinique  Moisturizer Supercharge Concentrate after my toner. I use a massaging sort of technique and let it really sink under my skin. Then I wait for like ten seconds before I follow with Missha All-Around Sunscreen because sunscreen is very important. I pat, pat, pat, instead of spreading it thin like a moisturizer to ensure maximum sun protection. Then I mix Laneige Water Bank with Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation in Golden Beige to create a tinted moisturizer. And that’s the base that you really want for summer. A very good flawless base that feels light yet long-lasting. The last step for the base is concealer. I use Elf Camo Concealer and then I seal it with So Natural Powder in Yellow. I focus on the under eyes and the chin. You can carve your nose out as well, but I didn’t do contour for this makeup tutorial. Set everything with powder. I used Suppin Club Powder.

Now on to the eyes. Don’t forget to prime. I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Primer. Be careful, because it kind of squirts out if you squeezed too hard. You could end up wasting product. So squeeze carefully :3
I’ve never tried a Viseart palette before and I wasn’t sure if the hype could live up to my expectations. But it totally did. I loved the formula for these shadows. It was very easy to blend and it stayed within my eye shape with very long-lasting power and no shadow has ever done that before. For summer, I think a sweat-proof make up is a must, so I highly suggest giving Viseart Warm Edits a try around summertime. From the Viseart Warm Edits Palette, I picked a  Fawn shade. I blend it with the warmth of my fingers until it’s quite sheer and looks like it melted in under my skin.

Then I grabbed another palette. I pick a golden shimmer shade from the Pat McGrath Ecstasy Kit palette. I used my pinky to swatch it sort of heavy but not really. And I just run it under the middle of my lower lid, where my iris sits. And it gives you that more healthy, more awake look.

And now my favorite part, the loose foiled, leaf-like shadow called Angel Dust by Pat McGrath. I use my middle finger and lightly pat it in the middle of my upper lid, almost extending it to just under my brows. This glitter shadow is unlike any that I’ve used. I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but I love how it catches and plays with the light. It makes you look very playful and alluring.

For the brows, I used The BrowGal Skinny Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown 04. Every time I do my brows, I focus on the tail and not so much the front part.

To complete the eye look, I used Flowfushi Moteliner black liquid liner to line my upper lid. I do it very closely to the lashes, creating a very thin line, and then I extend slightly past the eye socket create a puppy eye look. For the lower lid, I focus on the small triangle at the corner and fill that with Urban Decay Pencil 24/7 Glide-On in Demolition.

For mascara, Hourglass Caution mascara creates this nice, natural, wispy kind of look. Not so heavy that it overpowers the eyeshadows. Apply this in both the upper lashes and the lower lashes. I give extra attention to the lower lashes because that’s just how I like it. I also don’t curl my lashes because I, personally, like them drooping down.

For cheeks, I used a stippling brush from Wet n Wild and lightly dab it on & Other Stories - “Go Girl, Seek Happy Days to Happy Nights” blush. It’s this nice peach pink blush. I apply it on top of my cheekbones almost near the eyes to give that Igari look.

/ S T E P   F O U R :

I use Laneige Grapefruit Lip Sleeping Mask to moisturize my lips as well as use it for a base. Then I used
L’Oreal lipstick in Glossy Fawn and applied it vertically instead of swiping it. And I focus it in the middle part of my lips.

You can skip everything else but don’t skip this one! Smile and take a selfie :D Tell you how pretty you are!
