Three Self-Isolation Activities You Need To Try

Top Three Activities I’ve Been Trying While Practicing Self-Isolation:

1) Re-learning Japanese

2) Simple Ballet Exercises

3) Reading physical books/magazines

Bonus: Bullet Journaling / Sketching on Sketchbook

Hi everyone! These are three activities I have been doing to keep my mind off of the stress in the times we’re in. Do let me know what three activities you’ve been trying to stay afloat during Quarantine.

The first activity I have is learning a new language. For me, it’s Japanese because I hope to be able to teach English abroad. I downloaded this game from Steam called ‘Love Language’ and it’s great for refreshing my Hiragana and Katakana. I haven’t gotten that far in the game but I think they also include Kanji here. They should have all 3 of the alphabet system. If you’re not into gaming, you can also try Tofugu. That’s where I first started learning Japanese. Anyway, Love Language is perfect if you love anime. The silly characters really make it easy to remember the symbols and it also has audio if you’re more of an auditory learner.

I know a lot of people have been doing Yoga during this time, and you can pull up any fitness video on Youtube, but if you’re interested in switching it up, may I suggest Ballet Beautiful’s channel. She is amazing at teaching you basic steps. I like being able to say that I’ve been able to do: Tendu arabesque, Bouree, and Swan Lake Washes. I discovered her channel when she did a collaboration with Alexa Chung :D

Last but not least, is actually reading with a physical book. I noticed that during Quarantine, my eyes have been soaked 10x more digitally and it’s been giving me headaches. So to combat that, I’ve been trying to try reading with actual physical books. There is something magical about just holding paper whether it’s for reading, bullet journaling, or drawing on a sketchbook.

Anyway, that’s all I have to share for today. I’ve been meaning to share this earlier around April, but I’ve been sick and right now I’m trying this new medication recommended by my doctor for anxiety, so everything’s been woozy and I’m still adjusting to it. Hopefully, I can grind out more posts for you soon, as soon as I feel better. I’ve missed blogging and I’ve missed interacting with my viewers too.

  1. These are some great activities! Doing ballet exercises seems really cool! I'll have to give that a try. It seems challenging, but also different enough to keep my attention.

I also need to get more physical books. I've been reading on my kindle and it definitely wears the eyes out.

Great post! Thank you for sharing.
