Nostalgia | Welcome to Mari’s Make-Up Museum. Here you’ll get to see products that I used to struggle with when I first fell in love with the doe/tare/puppy eye look. My first peach eye shadow from elf. Gel liners, before I knew what liquid liners were. The thickest wing to be seen. My first drugstore BB cushion because ordering original BB cushions didn’t favor medium to light skin tones with olive undertones. My first nude lipstick from a Smashbox kit that I got from Macy’s. The toner I tolerated because the packaging was pink, even though it was so sticky because of the honey ingredient. Only finished it halfway. Ah, who was I three years ago?
Miss pile | The surprising thing about this pile is that all of them passed the fragrance test (except for the Katy Perry one). However, the products were either too drying, the shade was deceitfully different from the outer packaging, cannot be blended out, broke me out or didn’t do anything. I did another current misses post here, if you’re interested.
Update // Now that I'm looking at some of the swatches, I might re-purpose some of these as cream highlighters or cream eyeshadows. Particularly the Caramel Latte from L'Oreal. My skin doesn't like cream products though, but we'll see. Other products I want to take off the chopping block are Thrillist Nude and Sun Bum. Might regret this. Will keep you updated. We'll see if they make it on either Favorites or another Miss post.
Sorry, this was clickbait. Although, technically it’s not completely incorrect. I did hit pan on these, just not this year. It’s hard for me to hit pan. So I was looking at my small makeup collection, wondering if I ever hit pan or at least made a dent. And low and behold, this post is here.
