Hello there! Welcome back to my blog. Today I'm here to show you my small KB Shimmer collection. I ordered mine from Amazon. They're genuine because I think the owner and seller have decided to expand their storefront so that people who are new to nail polish can start falling in love with Indie brands as I have like the rest of the nail polish community.
My first purchase is "All That Glimmers" a rose gold reflective nail polish that I chose as a 29th birthday gift for myself. It pulls a little too red on me, but it's very pretty in the bottle. My second purchase is "After Midnight," another reflective polish to celebrate the New Year. It is dazzling, but it does require a bit of technique if you're used to slathering on a thick polish for the first coat. Instructions do recommend that you start out with thin layers for a smoother application. I'm just a bit of a goblin so I always go ham with my polishes lol. I definitely need to be careful when applying it next time. I like how it dried textured for both of these reflective polishes. It looked like crushed velvet which was again, very pretty.
The other two polishes that I got are "Creep It Together" which is a magnetic polish. I struggled with this polish at first because I couldn't do the "hovering technique" that other nail polishes do on Youtube. But I was on Instagram the other day, and another girl had this technique here you put the magnet under your finger as you're swiping the brush onto your nails. I owe everything to her for showing me another way to use magnetic polishes, otherwise, I would never get the chance to enjoy magnetic polishes as I do now.
The last polish that I bought is "Shade Shifter" which is just a multi-chrome and not magnetic at the same time. I used all sorts of magnets, until I looked at my Amazon order again, reread the description, and realized, how silly I was for thinking this was a magnetic polish lol.
Out of all the four polishes I currently own from KB Shimmer, my favorites are "Creep It Together" and "Shade Shifter." I just have a good memory attached to these two polishes. Because I remember wearing it during wintertime and I watched a Sci-fi space horror show with our stray cat, Tommy, and these polishes are so pretty, they match the atmosphere and color of the show really well. The name of the show is "The Silent Sea" if you were wondering what show it was. It's on Netflix.
I like the other two polishes during the festive season but I don't think I'm a reflective nail polish kind of gal. I think after two years of finally getting really into nail polish, I can safely say that the polishes I'm into are: creme, holo, bar glitters, and any grainy textured kind of polish. But all of these were so fun to try, and the packaging is simply amazing. I love all the details that went into making these polishes.
I haven't been able to deep dive into Indie polishes that much and that has to do mainly with me not being able to keep up with the releases. But I recently discovered PPU, (Polish Pick Up) and I think this is the best way for me to get to know more amazing Indie brands like KB Shimmer.
Before I go, I'll go ahead and leave the description of each product on the seller's site because they can just describe the product way better than I can.
Thanks for reading! See you in the next post! Take care xx
