This is the last volume. I’m quite happy with this volume. I wish there was a bit more Tarot reference throughout the whole story, because that’s the kind of vibe I got from the cover. But that’s the only gripe that I have with it. I think the focus of the story was wonderful, even if it went on a completely different direction than with the one I imagined in my head. There isn’t a lot of horror stuff embedded in this one, but I still enjoyed the dark and gothic aesthetic of it overall. I’m really glad unnecessary romance wasn’t included in this volume either. That’s for sure. The focal lens is still focused on the relationship between Flora and her ghostly cat! Some light spoilers ahead. Please only continue reading if you have read Volume Four. Thank you! In children’s storybooks, there’s that inevitable theme of “saying goodbye,” and while you’re in those chapters, it’s so heart-rending, and that injection of reality in an otherwise simple, light-hearted story just gives it that right amount of depth. I really appreciated the artist doing that for us. It resonated with me because we have a stray cat in our neighborhood, named Tommy. He has cancer and he’s also moving away with his adopted owner and we have no choice but to say goodbye; so the part where Flora had to deal with a similar situation with Creepy, made me cry while reading this volume. But I’m glad the author gave us a happy ending, even though it felt like that wasn’t possible. I think Volume Two is still the one I highly recommend reading out of the entire series.
