My favorite unbothered god. Why did I bother praying to other gods when I should’ve been worshipping you instead? I love your philosophy. If it matters, sleep. If it doesn’t matter, still sleep. The whole world can moan and groan. I am the axis. Time bends around me. The whole orbit of the room shifts under my command. One tiny stir, and it can rearrange timelines and futures. Sleep well, my love. Wake when you are ready. My affection will still be there.

Hades and Persephone: Myth rewritten. In other versions of the myth, Apollo was the spring love of Persephone before she descended to the Underworld. But in this story, it was not Apollo ( a surfer who loved the waves in the South of France who chased me inside the French garden as I was about to leave for Paris) but a spring nymph who loved the bitter sea and red wine. In this narrative, Persephone chooses stillness and gravity instead. She returns to Hades. She chooses Saturn. Because Hades is the true heir of Saturn. The god of restraint and reciprocity. Passion is noise. Real desire requires stillness not rampage. The French fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast mirrors the same grammar of this myth. Love softens, not from possession, but in release. And then before you know it, Saturn brings you to the end point, and restores what you think you’ve lost.
