Book Review - No More Horrible Dates by Kate O'Keefe
Disclaimer:

I made this series because I am a beginner at book reviews, (Currently no access to ARC - "Advanced Readers Copy") and I have no way of getting my hands on a lot of books, without spending a ton of money. I mean I do have access to a library app that I am eternally grateful for (Thank you, Libby I love you to death), but there are some items on there that are not available.

Hence, I made this series where I can get a feel of whether or not I would be tempted to continue reading a book by going ahead in making the next step of purchasing / picking it up, judging it on the three free chapters the authors or publisher has provided on Amazon Kindle.

My reviews for (1) samples and (2) books that I purchased with my own money are not going to be spoiler-free. I realized that it's very hard for me to make reviews without touching on certain topics, so while I label it on the title as a "Book Review", it would really be more of a "Book Analysis" or "Book Discussion." Viewers discretion on that part. As of now I only have Libby, Prime Reading, Book Bub, and Book Sirens on my utility belt. If I ever plan to do a Book Subscription or sign up for Kindle Unlimited, I will also disclose it to the readers.

Copies of books that I've acquired through "Books Sirens" will be spoiler-free. That is a part of their policy when giving out free copies directly from the author. In exchange for a free copy of the book, it is strongly recommended that spoilers are not included so that it won't spoil the story or plot for other future readers. I am always going to label it with a hashtag, #BookSirens so you'll know that a particular review will not contain any minor or major spoilers.

I'm sorry for the long intro, but I need to clear this up in every post. Anyway on to the review!

"No More Horrible Dates" is the third and final installation of the High Tea Series by Kate O'Keefe. Check out my other reviews on this series: No More Bad Dates & No More Terrible Dates.

I don't remember if this had any typos, but if there where it must be relatively minor since it didn't really stick out for me to remember. I think the only small complaint I have is the book cover. I wish they had given the MC, a dress instead of leggings. Simply, because in the book she's a fashion lover who sews all her clothes. It would have been nice to see one of her designs on the front cover.

If you've read my thoughts on the other two books, this book is no different. It won't' disappoint. O'keefe's touch in creating all her characters is masterful. Even the background, unimportant characters. Sometimes, they even steal the scenes, and you end up really being curious about them because she designed them so well.

I'd say this is the longest book out of the three as well. Or it felt that way, because every time I think it's about to be wrapped up, there were more chapters to uncover.

I also paid 99 cents for this book, and I say it's well worth the money. I never planned on getting the second or the third book, but O'keefe's writing made me crave for more.

The story is the typical boy meets girl. And it's hate at first sight. What I really loved about this book though, is that it took the time to build chemistry. It didn't make it abrupt or have you wondering if the characters really do like each other. Before it can shift from hate to love, the author patiently gives you several scenes, where the two central characters bond and build a friendship.

I really wish COVID wasn't here and that I could have read this book at the beach.

You might enjoy this book if you're into any of the categories below:
Tags: romance, humor, no erotic scenes, feel-good, second chances, supportive friends, painful break-ups, dating, summer read, light read, strictly kissing and hand-holding, hot athletes, wild boys, new zealand setting, ordinary girl with celebrity,  fashionista, relatable petite heroine, high tea, desserts, sad boys with secrets, fake dating.
