Food Diary No. 7 | Spooky Snacks | Holiday Snacks

7/10/2022

Hey guys! Welcome to Episode 7 of the Food Diary series. I’m sorry in advance that I didn’t organize my snack adventures in the right categories like put things together seasonally or label every single item. Although that’s a good idea to try for the next episode. I think I mentioned this in the last episode already, but I am still on the hunt for aonori powder to come back in stock at my local Japanese grocery store (Seiwa). The shipping crisis still lingers, but what can I expect, the pandemic is still ongoing. We’re in the fifth variant already and no one wants to mask up anymore. I rarely see people doing it. So anyway, the alternate option that I have is Parsley flakes. I got it from Walmart for 99 cents, and it’s great for adding color to your meal. That umami taste isn’t there though. And it browns quite easily. Next time I buy it, I’m gonna be more generous when I sprinkle it on top of my food, because I don’t think it stores very well. It doesn’t compare to aonori, but I’m still grateful for food whenever I get to try something new. Also, I’m sorry if the grids aren’t perfectly aligned. It’s been a while since I played with Canva, because it’s not the program I usually use to make graphics. It doesn’t really bother me, because I wasn’t going for the perfect grid. But, I’m really sorry if it bothers you. I believe in sprezzatura, so that’s why little imperfections aren’t something I worry about too much. It’s a fun philosophy. I think everyone should try it at least once.

If you see some stuff repeating, it’s because this is from mid -2021 to New Year’s 2022. I made marshmallow toast to toast the New Year lol. Oh, and I also found a granola bar brand that I really like. It’s Made Good. And it’s soooo goood. While I was putting this together, I’ve also noticed that a lot of the snack packaging that I bought came in green, so it looks deceitfully healthy lol. But there are some genuine green snacks in here like my favorite seaweed snacks that I just get at the 99 cents store or at my local grocery in the International aisle. I also finally got to try Utz. I couldn’t find it at Target, but I found it at Kroger instead. That was a great snack find as well. I also remember being on a salad đŸ„— kick last year. Like I’d go everywhere just to try different kinds of salad. That part was really fun. Rating the salads in my head, but not really needing to post it anywhere. I like making mini-games while I snack. I’ll try to get Eepisode 8 up next soon because Mama Bear and I have been going around the bakeries in our area and we’ve been rating the local bread and pastries that we’ve decided to try and it’s a great bonding time for me and my mom.

Thanks for reading! I’ll see you in the next post! Take care xx
