Mini Jill Stuart Haul | Rouge Lip Jewel Gemmy Satin

1/27/2022

Good morning to you guys! I’m back for the 12th winter post that was supposed to go live during Blogmas. Here it is. Another Jill Stuart mini haul. I bought two things, but it’s really one item. I had to buy the case and the lipstick shade itself separately. But it’s a $40 lipstick, so my wallet and I agree that it’s definitely a haul, because you can get lots of things for forty bucks instead of just one item. I picked this up around March last year. I’m still on my No-Buy for make up products for 2022. I’m just late at publishing old hauls that I did ages ago.

Before I continue, I would like to apologize in advance for anyone who’s left a comment and it didn’t get to go through. I woke up yesterday and my blog was down and I don’t know for how long it was down. I was able to get it back up in an hour or so, and I am very sorry if your comment got lost in the process. Thanks very much for understanding. And now back to the post.

Sadly, this is my first product from Jill Stuart that I’ve been disappointed in. This nude shade is too pale on me and for some reason I can’t make it sit right on top of my lips. I don’t know. I don’t know how to make it work. I’m sure I can mix it with some other shades to get the perfect tone, but that’s an extra step that I don’t care to do. Also, struggled adding this guy to my cart. Because, the promo photos were different from the photos they have on their site. And there were no clear labels for clarification. I thought I picked up the lavender-mauve case, but when I got it in the mail, I ended up getting a peachy-red case. So yeah, the unmatching photos just made it hard to pick the right lipstick case. I did end up liking the color I got. It looks very romantic in a gothic way, and it kind of reminds me of the blood moon in Dracula from Castlevania. The other thing, I’m not that impressed with, is how light the case is. It doesn’t feel like it has any weight unlike the other lipsticks I bought from them. The bullet lipstick itself is very short as you can see in the photos below when I wind it up to it’s full length. For $40, I’m expecting at least the regular amount of product that goes in to all other bullet lipsticks. Very upset about that as well.

This is very nice to display on your vanity table. It’s very pretty, but that’s all that I got out of it. Oh and it does have a mirror that you can open up. So, I don’t think I’ll be grabbing anything from this line. I’ll be sticking to the hit products that I fell in love with and repurchase them once they’re out.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. The other 12 posts will be posted starting February, three times a week. Please take care and I’ll see you all soon xx
